hunger moon

hunger moon--
the deer's neck stretched to reach
the last tree bark

Nora, I really like all the "moon" poems... what has inspired you to continue the series? Is this an exploration of the word, the image, or the art? I am just curious - keep up the good work.

Such a deep question on a Thursday. I don't have a good answer, Marty. For a while I was doing the monthly full moon on the date as maybe a topical anchor. Otherwise, I guess the moon is a classic haiku reference, and I like it's foreshadowing presence in a poem.
Thanks for your kind words.
