Ahhhh, those flannel PJs; and in changing with the trees, we pull on our woolen socks.

The beauty in this haiku lies in the difference between the textures of silk and flannel. The first frost carries a romantic stigma of silk, but when it arrives, the frost is flannel. Not perfect and smooth, but rougher, yet still nice in its own way. Just as the person getting dressed or making the bed for winter finds that flannel is much more practical and useful than silk. Something different than expected.
